*Attention seniors: if you were absent yesterday or missed the senior meeting in the morning, you must check in with Coach Nichols today.
*After Prom tickets will be sold for $15 at the door on Saturday night from 11:30 p.m. until midnight. Only Central juniors and seniors and their dates may attend. School rosters will be verified at the time of purchase. Also, if you plan to leave early, you must have a form signed by your parent/guardian and notarized. The form can be found on the Prom page located under Students and then Clubs and Activities on the school web site.
*There will be a Junior Night/Dual Enrollment meeting coming up on April 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. See your counselor with questions.
*Middle School boys- if you are interested in information concerning Scouting there will be a short presentation during Club time Thursday in the upstairs lounge. The presentation is focused on the outdoor and summer opportunities available through the program.
*If you joined the birthday book club in the library this year and haven't chosen your book yet, please drop by the library sometime this week to select your book. Our last book order has arrived and we want you to get the chance to make your selection first!
*April 28 is the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis and it will be held at Central Magnet School. They are in need of volunteer groups. Set up is at 7:30 and they will be finished at noon. If you have a club or group that would like to participate, please see Mrs. Huffman for details.
*Your Tiger baseball team picked up 2 big wins in a double header versus Ezell-Harding last night. They won game one 12-6. Patrick Norman led the offense going 5 for 5 at the plate and scoring 3 runs. Michael Polly was 2 for 3. The Tigers win game two 15-1 in five innings. Porter Hendrixson went 2 for 2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Patrick Norman and Jack Smith had 2 hits each and Jacob Upshaw hit his 4th home run of the year.
*The Lady Tigers beat Community 11-4 last night. They advance to 8-3 overall and 3-2 in districts. The ladies collected 14 hits total, with Alyssa Ward going 3/5, and Hayley Nicholson 2/4. Abby Frazier hit 2 out while collecting 7RBI's on the night. And Faith McCaghren earned the win on the mound.
The Lady Tigers meet up with former district rivals, DeKalb Co, in a double header Monday night at McKnight Park.
*The Central Magnet boys and girl’s tennis teams moved to 4-0 in the district by defeating Oakland HS yesterday. The boys team swept their matches by a score of 7-0. The boys were led by Nathan Zou who won 8-0, and Nathan has not lost a singles or doubles match this year! The girls defeated Oakland by a score of 10-2 and were led by Mamie Sevier, Molly Speight, and Megan Scott who each won their singles and doubles matches.
*The high school soccer team walked away with an impressive 2-0 win over Page HS last night. Jakada Jack led the attack with a goal and an assist. Ethan Penny scored the other goal and Andres Zaragoza had the assist. A strong performance from the defense led by Elijah Barrit and Sam Orput maintained the clean sheet.
The high school soccer team plays Nolensville tonight at 5:30, if the weather permits.
*The middle school golf team fell to Rockvale yesterday in match play. Taylor Brigham, Josie Hakanson, and Sam Tipps were able to split their matches while Nathaniel Carter, Emma Nolan, and Caden Greene did the same. They'll face Stewart's Creek at Cedar Crest next Tuesday.
*The Middle School Boys Varsity soccer team defeated Christiana 3 to 0. Miles Lee, Jordan McGoffin, and Will Kassenbaum each scored a goal. Will Palmer and Miles Lee each had an assist. Will Palmer had 4 saves.
The Junior Varsity tied 1 to 1. Hank Wells scored the goal and Isiah Richard had 4 saves.
The next game is Tuesday April 10th at Oakland.
*Middle School softball took a tough loss to Rockvale last night, but Kaitlyn Polly hit a GRAND SLAM over the center field fence! Reese Carlisle and Jackie Dummermuth had great catches in the outfield.
The lady tigers play Christiana away on Tuesday.
*Congratulations to the middle school track for their performances on the opening night of the middle school county track and field championships last night.
The boy's top performers were:
Brody Kriegermeier placed 2nd in the 200-meter dash and 4th in the 100-meter dash.
The boys 4x200 meter relay team placed 7th. The runners were: Grant Tiller, Joshua Guaz, Riley Moore, and Anjaney Sharma
Blake Yuenger places 2nd in both the 1600-meter run and the 800-meter run.
Ian Callender placed 5th in the 800-meter run.
Ben Clemence placed 6th in the 1600-meter run.
The boys 4x400 meter relay team placed 8th. The runners were: Logan Kelley, Vinny Peck, Tony Peck, and Alex Norwood.
The girl’s top performers were:
The 4x200 meter relay team placed 8th and setting a new school record. The girls were: Julia Ann Hamilton, Harper Guthrie, Claudia Mitchell and Reily Gusman.
Ella Anderson placed 8th in the 1600-meter run.
Zoe London placed 6th in the 400-meter dash.
Reily Gusman placed 7th in the 200-meter dash.
The girls 4x400 meter relay team are county champs winning by over 8 seconds. The girls were Rayna Taylor, Samantha Ouellette, Claudia Mitchell and Zoe London.
Samantha Ouellette is the county champ in the 1600 meter run and the 800-meter run. She earned the distance MVP for the girls in Rutherford County.
After the running events the boys are 4th and the girls are 5th.
