*April 28 is the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis and it will be held at Central Magnet School.  They are in need of volunteer groups.  Set up is at 7:30 and they will be finished at noon.  If you have a club or group that would like to participate, please see Mrs. Huffman for details.

 

* The Secret Garden Party, a fundraiser benefitting The Discovery Center of Murfreesboro, needs help with volunteers.

*Attention junior members of National Honor Society:

Candidate virtual speeches should be emailed to Mr. Nichols by Friday, April 13. In your speech, tell us about your qualifications and why you are seeking the office.  Speeches should not exceed 350 words.  See Mr. Nichols or Mr. Windham if you have any questions.

 

*Central's Math Team competed Tues at MTSU and out of our 31 students in six subjects 22 ranked in the top 20 in their division!!

*There is a Youth in Government meeting after school today in room 226.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Ruess.

 

*The Middle School Boys Varsity soccer team defeated the first-place team Oakland Middle School 2 to 1.  Charles Shamburger scored a goal and Jordan McGoffin scored on a Penalty Kick.  Ollie Rayburn had the assist and Will Palmer had 8 saves.  The Tigers now have 5 wins and 3 losses in league play.  The next game is here against Siegel, Thursday April 12th game time is at 4:15 with the JV immediately after.  This is also 8th grade recognition night, students get in free.

 

*Any student interested in playing football next year with Eagleville, please come to an information meeting on Thursday in the gym during club time.

 

*The Lady Tigers lost a close one with Forrest last night after swapping leads, 7-5.  Kali Penny was 2 for 4. Ashley Dyer was 2 for for with 3 RBI's. And Abby Frazier was 2 for 3.

 

*The MS baseball tigers won their third game in a row to improve to four and four on the season and two and three in the conference with an 11 to 5 victory over Smyrna middle school. Marcus Collins got the win giving up three hits, walking three and striking out eight Smyrna batters.

The tigers were lead in hitting by Landon Martin with two hits and two RBIs.  Adam Apigian lead the tigers with three stolen bases and three runs scored from the number two hitting position. The tigers had nine stolen bases on the night.

*The Central Magnet men's soccer team traveled to Lawrence Co. last and moved to 3-0 in district play.  Jarod Ball was the man of the match with two goals and an assist. Ethan Penny scored once and added an assist of his own.  Josh Stout added the final tally on for the night.  Russell Harper his 5th clean sheet in goal for the season.

*The soccer team will play Nolensville tonight at 5pm in a battle for the top of the district.  Students get in free!

 

*The Lady Tigers lost a close one with Forrest last night after swapping leads, 7-5.  Kali Penny was 2 for 4. Ashley Dyer was 2 for for with 3 RBI's. And Abby Frazier was 2 for 3.

 

*The Central boys and girl’s tennis teams ran their perfect district record to 5-0 yesterday! The boys defeated Blackman HS by a match score of 7-0, while the girls beat Blackman 5-2.  Standout players for the Tigers were Nathan Zou, Fant Smith, Suren Shah, Macy Speight, and Molly Speight who all won their matches easily by scores of 8-2 or better.  Go Tigers!

 

*Middle school golf fell to PCA yesterday. However, Josie Hakanson and Tasman Takayama were able to split their match and put points on the board for Central. Eli Austin and Ryan Thweatt handily won against their opponents. The highlight of the day came when Ryan Thweatt made two long birdie putts on back to back holes. For just a moment, Cedar Crest felt like Augusta National.

 

*Your Tiger baseball team lost in extra innings to Forrest. The final score was 6 to 5. Patrick Norman and Stephan Laird had 2 hits each.
