*April 28 is the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis and it will be held at Central Magnet School.  They are in need of volunteer groups.  Set up is at 7:30 and they will be finished at noon.  If you have a club or group that would like to participate, please see Mrs. Huffman for details.

 

* The Secret Garden Party, a fundraiser benefitting The Discovery Center of Murfreesboro, needs help with volunteers.

Candidate virtual speeches should be emailed to Mr. Nichols by Friday, April 13. In your speech, tell us about your qualifications and why you are seeking the office.  Speeches should not exceed 350 words.  See Mr. Nichols or Mr. Windham if you have any questions.

 

*The Lady Tigers brought home a big district win against Marshall Co. last night.  Abby Griffin 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's and Ashley Dyer was 2 for 4 as well. Kali Penny and Faith McCaghren combined on the mound for the win. They will travel to Macon Co this afternoon.

 

*The Central Magnet boys' and girls' teams clinched a large school district title on Thursday by crushing district foe Siegel High School.  The boys defeated Siegel by a match score of 13-0!!!  The girls team defeated Siegel by a score of 12-1!!!  Standout players for Central were Jessie Thepsouvan, Mamie Sevier, Sally Smith on the girl’s side while Alex Hand, Fant Smith, and Suren Shah all had convincing wins on the boy’s side.  Nathan Zou wrapped up the #1 seed in the district tournament with an 8-6 win over the #2 seed.  Both teams are now 6-0 in the district with 5 games left in the regular season. We hope the Tigers will keep rolling!!

*The Lady Tigers middle school softball team defeated Smyrna last night for their second district win of the season. Caitlin Dodson had 9 strike outs, a season best, and Kaitlyn Polly hit her second home run of the season over the center field fence. The lady tigers play again Tuesday at home.

 

*The middle school golf team defeated MTCS to win their first match of the season. Josie Hakanson, Taylor Brigham, and Wes Smotherman swept their opponents while Eli Austin and Ryan Thweatt continued playing well together to put the Tigers in a great position to win. Finally, Emma Nolan, Ellis Young, Jacob Shanks, Nathaniel Carter, Caden Greene, and Sam Tipps helped solidify the victory. It was a complete team effort.

 

*The middle school golf team defeated MTCS to win their first match of the season. *The Middle School boys’ Varsity soccer team lost a real tough game to Siegel 2 tp1.  Christian Scott scored the goal while Will Palmer had 4 saves. The JV team also lost. Isiah Richard had 6 saves.  The next game is here Monday against Rocky Fork, game time is 4:30.

 

*MS Tigers win streak ended with a 12 to 2 loss Thursday afternoon to Seagel. Adam Apigian was 3 for 3 and Christian Pencek was 2 for 3 to lead in hitting.

Matthew Fleischman pitched 4 quality innings to hold the Tigers close until the 6th inning when a couple of hits and an error or two cost the Tigers.
