*April 28 is the Great Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis and it will be held at Central Magnet School. They are in need of volunteer groups. Set up is at 7:30 and they will be finished at noon. If you have a club or group that would like to participate, please see Mrs. Huffman for details.
*Congratulations to Sevon Askew, Elisha McFarlin, Kendall Posey, and Grace Winfree for their beautiful performances in the TN All-State Choirs on Friday. Sevon was a finalist for several solos in the men’s chorus. This was one of the best years for All-State choir, and we are thankful to these students for representing Central’s Choirs at this prestigious event.
*Newly accepted National English Honors Society members are reminded that dues should be turned in to Ms. Morris or Ms. Esberger by Friday. All members who want a T-shirt should fill out the form on the club website, and that money should also be in by Friday. Seniors can pick up their graduation cords from Ms. Esberger.
*The Lady Tigers softball team faired well on Fri improving their record to 11-6.. They defeated Macon Co 10-5 and Gordonsville 12-1. Faith McCaghren and Kali Penny each picked up a win. Abby Frazier and Hope Scott each hit one out, with Hope collecting 3 RBI's.
The Lady Tigers game at Eagleville was canceled today. Next up will be at Nolensville tomorrow at 5:30.
*The Men's soccer team hosted the first ever Battle of the Magnets Soccer tournament this weekend. Central lost on Friday night to CSAS 1-0. On Saturday morning, the boys took on Hume Fogg. The match was shortened due to weather, but the final score was 1-0 in Central's favor. Jakada Jack scored the goal off of a pass by Jorge Graniel. Russell Harper posted another shutout in goal.
This is the third year in a row that Central has defeated Hume-Fogg. Central will travel to Spring Hill tomorrow for a 6:30 kickoff.
*Central Magnet Baseball won the Knox West Spring Fling tournament beating West High School (Knoxville) in the championship game 10-5. Micah Harris got his first high school win on the mound. Cooper Wylie picked up a save. Michael Polly led the offense going 2/4 with 3 RBI. Patrick Norman, Jacob Upshaw, Matthew McDaniel and Hayden Flatt all had 2 hits each.
