Newly accepted National English Honors Society members are reminded that dues should be turned in to Ms. Morris or Ms. Esberger by Friday. All members who want a T-shirt should fill out the form on the club website, and that money should also be in by Friday. Seniors can pick up their graduation cords from Ms. Esberger.

 

*8th graders don’t forget this is last 2 weeks to buy formal tickets. This Friday and next Friday during B lunch. $35.00 ticket.

 

*Attention seniors:

Please stop by Coach Nichols' office to pay for and retrieve your green work ethic distinction cords.  This should be done by Wednesday of next week.  The cost is $10, with checks made payable to Jostens.  If you're not sure if you earned this honor, the list is posted outside of guidance or see Coach Nichols.

In addition, please remember senior banquet tickets should also be purchased by Wednesday 4/25 as well.  Seniors don't need a ticket, but everyone else does.  Cost is $25 per ticket, with checks made payable to Central Magnet School. 

 

*Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors - If you are interested in running for a student council office for the 2018 - 2019 school year, you must attend a mandatory meeting on Friday.  The meetings will be held at 7:40 am, during C lunch, and 3:00 pm in the auditorium.  Sit in the back of the auditorium near the sound booth.  You only have to attend one of these meetings.  If you will not be here at school on Friday, please see Mrs. Hines or Mr. Nichols before Friday.

 

*There will be a Middle School Youth in Government meeting after school today in Mr Ruess' room.

 

*The Lady Tigers defeated Whitworth Buchanan last night 16-9. Hannah Gardner had a double and a whopping 4 RBIs. Mesom Okafor and Emmaline Whitt both had their first hits, and Caitlin Dodson struck out ten batters. This was their third district win of the season.

 

*The Central Magnet men's soccer team moved to 5-0 in district play with a 4-0 win over Spring Hill.  Collin Webber opened the scoring off of a cross from Jakada Jack.  Jorge Graniel turned in a man of the match performance with his first high school goal.  Jakada Jack and Nathan Clark added the remaining goals.  Ethan Penny and Elijah Barritt both had assists.  Russell Harper posted his 8th clean sheet of the season.

The JV soccer team won 1-0 with Wills Mcadams scoring the winning goal.

 

*The Middle School Boys Soccer team finished out the regular season with a victory over Whitworth Buchanan 8 to 1.  Will Kassenbaun and Miles Lee each scored 2 goals while Christian Scott, Charles Shambarger, Jordan McGoffin, and Hank Wells each scored a goal.  Assists were made by Christian Scott, Charles Shambarger, Ollie Rayburn, Parker Mills, and Trent Skinner.  Will Palmer had 3 saves and Isiah Richard had two saves.  The team finished with a regular season record of 7 wins and 4 losses. 

 

*The varsity baseball team lost to Marshall County last night 8 to 1. Patrick Norman and Stephan Laird were both 2 for 4 at the plate. Your Tigers host Marshall Co tonight at 5:00. Come on out!
