*Attention Junior Members of National Honor Society:

Voting is now open for 2018-2019 leadership positions.  Simply go to the CM NHS homepage and follow the voting link.  Voting closes at 3:00pm today so be sure to let your voice be heard.  See Coach Nichols or Mr. Windham if you have any problems or questions.  

*Students, if you need your laptop reconnected to the WIFI due to the password reset yesterday, you can bring it to the cafeteria during your lunch period today. There will be a table set up there for assistance. This will only work for laptops running Windows 7 or 10.

*Attention seniors:

Please stop by Coach Nichols' office to pay for and retrieve your green work ethic distinction cords.  This should be done by Wednesday of next week.  The cost is $10, with checks made payable to Jostens.  If you're not sure if you earned this honor, the list is posted outside of guidance or see Coach Nichols.

In addition, please remember senior banquet tickets should also be purchased by Wednesday 4/25 as well.  Seniors don't need a ticket, but everyone else does.  Cost is $25 per ticket, with checks made payable to Central Magnet School. 

 

*Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors - If you are interested in running for a student council office for the 2018 - 2019 school year, you must attend a mandatory meeting on Friday.  The meetings will be held at 7:40 am, during C lunch, and 3:00 pm in the auditorium.  Sit in the back of the auditorium near the sound booth.  You only have to attend one of these meetings.  If you will not be here at school on Friday, please see Mrs. Hines or Mr. Nichols before Friday.

 

*National English Honor Society new member, please get your dues to Ms. Esberger or Ms. Morris by the end of the day Friday.

Any member who wants a T-shirt needs to fill out the Google form on the NEHS website. Money for these for returning members should also be in by Friday.

 

*Jr Beta club members needs to stop by Mrs. Taylor's room to drop off service logs in the Jr Beta folder in the front of her room, if they haven't already.

Also, it's Project Shoebox time!  Members need to see Mrs. Taylor to sign up for the teacher appreciation event we call Project Shoebox.  See her for sign-up and details today or tomorrow during your 5th period lunch or study hall time.

 

*The Lady Tigers took a loss last night to district foe, Giles Co., 14-12.

The Abby's had a great night at the plate, however. Abby Frazier went 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Abby Griffin hit 2 homeruns, going 3/4, with 8 RBI's.  The Lady Tigers will take on LaVergne at home on Monday.

 

*The Central Magnet boys and girls high school tennis teams earned decisive wins over Lebanon HS yesterday.  The girls were especially dominant by winning their match 12-0. Standout players for the girls were Jessie Thepsouvan, Macy and Molly Speight, and Megan Scott. 

The boys team also won their match by a final score of 6 matches to 2.  Both teams will be back in action next week as they wrap up the regular season.

 

*MS Tigers improved to 5 and 7 on the year and 3 and 5 in conference with a 10 to 0 win over Whitworth-Buchanan Thursday afternoon.

Marcus Collins and Christian Pencek combined for a 5 hit 9 strikeout shutout pitching performance.

Landon Martin and Jacob Williams had two hits and two rbi a piece and Hayden Griggs had a hit and two rbi to lead the Tigers in hitting.

The Tigers defense had no charged errors in the game

 

*The Central Magnet Men's Soccer team moved to 6 and 0 in the district with a 6-0 win over Giles Co.  Nathan Clark put on a man of the match performance with a hat trick.

The other three goals came from Andres Zaragoza, Eli Horton, and Josh Stout.

Jorge Graniel had two assists, and Asher Feltz and Jarod Ball also had one each.
