*STUDENTS: The last day to drop and add a different class is Wednesday, August 22. You may still change levels or drop for a study hall until Sept. 7. Forms can be picked up in Guidance.

*There will be an interest meeting on Wednesday in Room 225 after school for anyone interested in Mock Trial.  The meeting should be over by 3:30.  See Mr. Nabors for more information.

* HOSA’s 1st blood drive will be August 30th from 730 to 1 in the gym. Go to our CMS homepage, Mrs. Gates webpage or HOSA’s webpage for the link to sign up.

If you’re 16 years of age, see Mrs. Gates for a parent permission form!

Last year’s blood drives brought in $2500 in scholarship money for our seniors!

*Applications for the National Spanish Honor Society have been posted in Ms. Pinson's room! If you are a level 3 student or higher and are interested in this community service and outreach Honor Society - come by and grab an application. Both OLD and NEW members must get an application. They will be turned in, along with dues during the first meeting on B rotation on Sept 6th.

TUTORING for Spanish is now available for ALL levels through the CMS Writing Lab. See your Spanish teacher on how to sign up!

*For those interested in joining Senior BETA club this year, your time is running out! Application packets are now available on the Senior BETA web page.  Please submit your BETA club application, transcripts, teacher recommendations, and essay in a manila envelope to Ms. Frazer in room 104 by Friday, August 24, 2018. No late submissions will be accepted. If you have questions, please contact Ms. Frazer or Mr. Boynton.

*John Bautch, a representative from MTSU ROTC, will be in College Corner this Tuesday. Stop by if you are interested in learning more.

*There will be an Interest Meeting for CMS Archery on Tuesday, August 21st at 6 pm in the cafeteria.  If you are new to CMS Archery and did not attend the spring meeting, please plan to attend the meeting on Tuesday.

*Applications are available for the 4th Annual MTSU Entrepreneurship Fair which will be held on November 14, 2018.

Students will get a chance to showcase their business concept and present to industry judges.  Stop by Room 210 for the application.

*2018-2019 DECA applications are available in Room 210.

*Tuesday's sixth-grade lunchtime book talk is Avalon High.

*Bowling tryouts will be Tuesday August 21st at Lanes Trains and Automobiles. Tryouts will be from 3:45-5:15, you must have all paperwork completed to tryout. See Coach Joyce if you have any questions or are unable to attend.

*The middle school cross-country team opened their season in Lafayette on Saturday at the Macon County Invitational. It was a soggy race, but the runners performed very well.

Girls took 3rd place and boys took 6th place.

Top finishers were Mikayla Morrell, Emmaline Whitt, Ben Clemence, and Tony Peck.
