*If you joined the birthday book club this year, please stop by the library anytime during the day to choose your book!

*Students-

It is time to start registration for the PSAT.  Registration will begin Monday, August 27 and will continue until September 7 in the attendance office.  The cost is $16 and is open to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.  You may pay with cash or check made to CMS.  We will also take card payments but a processing fee will be added.  If you have questions about the PSAT and the importance of this test, please see your guidance counselor or Mr. Nichols. Don't forget to pick up your practice booklet when you register!

*Applications are available for the 4th Annual MTSU Entrepreneurship Fair which will be held on November 14, 2018.

Students will get a chance to showcase their business concept and present to industry judges.  Stop by Room 210 for the application.

*2018-2019 DECA applications are available in Room 210.

*The Mu Alpha Theta 2018-2019 membership application is on the website. The first club meeting is B rotation next week. 

*HOSA’s first blood drive will be August 30th, from 7:30 to 1:00 in the gym.  Go to our CMS homepage, Mrs. Gates webpage or HOSA’s webpage for the link to sign up. 

If you’re 16 years of age, see Mrs. Gates for a parent permission form.

Last year’s blood drive brought in $2500 in scholarship money for our seniors!

*The Youth Council at The Discovery Center is looking for teens wanting to make a positive impact in their community and gain critical thinking skills to expand their education.  If you are interested in participating in this service opportunity, join us for an open house on Monday, September 17th, at 5:30pm at The Discovery Center.

*For those who applied for membership to Senior BETA this year, this message is for YOU! Check the Senior Beta webpage Wednesday (8/29) after school for a list of all who made it into the club.  Also, please pay close attention to the following details: 

The induction ceremony is Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 5:30-7 PM (assuming the auditorium renovation is complete).

Before induction, you will need to pay your $25 BETA dues. This one-time cost includes local and national dues.  If you are unable to pay the dues before induction, please come and see Ms. Frazer or Mr. Boynton before induction.

* Attention seniors:

Remember to report to the auditorium for advisory today. You will sit in your assigned advisory class section. Get excited!

*Just a reminder that JR. BETA applications must be completed and submitted by the end of the day on Friday, August 31st.  This includes report cards, teacher recommendations, and the online submission.  Please see Mrs. Taylor if you have any questions.

Middle school teachers, thank you for taking the time to help us with the recommendations you have been completing.

*The high school girls’ soccer team will travel to Spring Hill to take on Spring Hill High School this evening at 6pm.

*The Middle School Lady Tigers played a great game last night against Whitworth Buchanan. With a combined effort with both the JV and Varsity they defeated them 3 to 1.  Riley Gusman, Emme Lynn and Lila Mae Skidmore each had a goal while Sydney Cuneo had 2 assists and Lila Mae Skidmore had 1.  Mikayla Harris had 2 saves and Sophie Stringfield had one save.  Their next game is here on Thursday against Stewarts Creek Varsity game time is 4:30 with the JV games immediately after. 

*High School Volleyball lost a hard-fought game to Upperman last night.  They play again Tuesday at Nolensville
