*The Center for Accelerated Language Acquisition (CALA) is pleased to offer an introduction to ASL. Meet at the MTSU Honors College and learn sign language naturally through games and other fun hands-on activities dealing with greetings, numbers, colors, the alphabet and elements of basic, everyday conversation.

*Students-

It is time to start registration for the PSAT.  Registration will begin Monday, August 27 and will continue until September 7 in the attendance office.  The cost is $16 and is open to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.  You may pay with cash or check made to CMS.  We will also take card payments but a processing fee will be added.  If you have questions about the PSAT and the importance of this test, please see your guidance counselor or Mr. Nichols.  Don't forget to pick up your practice booklet when you register!

 

*Applications are available for the 4th Annual MTSU Entrepreneurship Fair which will be held on November 14, 2018.

Students will get a chance to showcase their business concept and present to industry judges.  Stop by Room 210 for the application.

 

*2018-2019 DECA applications are available in Room 210.

 

*The Mu Alpha Theta 2018-2019 membership application is on the website. The first club meeting is B rotation next week. 

*On Tuesday, Sept. 4 College Corner will host a great line up including Vanderbilt, Transylvania, University of South Carolina, and Sewanee. Be sure to stop by!

 

*MTSU is hosting a college fair Sept 5th in the Student Union from 6-8.

 

*"Students, if you are enrolled in choir, band, strings, or music theory at Central and have at least a 3.0 grade average overall, you are eligible to join the TRI-M Music Honor Society. If you are interested in joining, please come to the inaugural meeting during Club B Rotation on Thursday, September 6th."

 

*There will be a rock band interest meeting next Tuesday September 4th in the band room at 315. Please email Mr. Click with any questions you might have.

 

*The Middle School Girls varsity soccer team defeated the first place Stewarts Creek in one of their best games of the season 1 to 0.  Riley Guzman scored the winning goal assisted by Sydney Cuneo. Mikyla Harris had 7 saves.

The JV team played a tough but lost 2 to 0. Sophia Springfield had 3 saves.

The next game is Tuesday at Rock Springs.

 

*Middle School tennis had their first match against Siegel yesterday. The girls won all matches. Shivam Agrawal won the #1 boys in one of many hard-fought matches. They play MTCS on Tuesday
