*If you joined the birthday book club this year, please stop by the library anytime during the day to choose your book!

*Students-

It is time to start registration for the PSAT.  Registration will begin Monday, August 27 and will continue until September 7 in the attendance office.  The cost is $16 and is open to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.  You may pay with cash or check made to CMS.  We will also take card payments but a processing fee will be added.  If you have questions about the PSAT and the importance of this test, please see your guidance counselor or Mr. Nichols.  Don't forget to pick up your practice booklet when you register!

*Applications are available for the 4th Annual MTSU Entrepreneurship Fair which will be held on November 14, 2018.

Students will get a chance to showcase their business concept and present to industry judges.  Stop by Room 210 for the application.

*2018-2019 DECA applications are available in Room 210.

*The Mu Alpha Theta 2018-2019 membership application is on the website. The first club meeting is B rotation next week. 

*HOSA’s first blood drive is today, from 7:30 to 1:00 in the gym. See Mrs. Gates webpage or HOSA’s webpage for the link to sign up. If you are 16 years of age, you must have a parent permission form signed in order to donate.

*Gates Student Nurse Club will meet in the gym today.

*On Tuesday, Sept. 4 College Corner will host a great line up including Vanderbilt, Transylvania, University of South Carolina, and Sewanee. Be sure to stop by!

*The Youth Council at The Discovery Center is looking for teens wanting to make a positive impact in their community and gain critical thinking skills to expand their education.  If you are interested in participating in this service opportunity, join us for an open house on Monday, September 17th, at 5:30pm at The Discovery Center.

*"Students, if you are enrolled in choir, band, strings, or music theory at Central and have at least a 3.0 grade average overall, you are eligible to join the TRI-M Music Honor Society. If you are interested in joining, please come to the inaugural meeting during Club B Rotation on Thursday, September 6th."

 

*There will not be a Jr. Beta meeting during club time today.

Please remember that the deadline for membership applications is the end of the school day tomorrow, August 31.

*There will be a rock band interest meeting next Tuesday September 4th in the band room at 315. Please email Mr. Click with any questions you might have.

*The Middle School girls soccer team will play Stewarts Creek here this afternoon.  The Varsity game time is 4:30 with the JV game immediately after.  Come out and support the Lady Tigers.
