*A fire can breakout with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be. Know your emergency evacuation routes at school and at home. Don’t forget to identify a secondary evacuation route in case your primary route is not available.

 

*Friday, Sept. 7 is the last day to change levels in a class or drop for a study hall. Forms can be picked up in Guidance.

 

*Just a reminder for all OLD and NEW members of the National Spanish Honor Society, that dues and forms are to be turned in at Thursday's meeting on B Rotation!

 

*Students-

It is time to start registration for the PSAT.  Registration will begin Monday, August 27 and will continue until September 7 in the attendance office.  The cost is $16 and is open to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.  You may pay with cash or check made to CMS.  We will also take card payments but a processing fee will be added.  If you have questions about the PSAT and the importance of this test, please see your guidance counselor or Mr. Nichols.  Don't forget to pick up your practice booklet when you register!

 

*MTSU is hosting a college fair today in the Student Union, on the MTSU campus, from 6-8.

 

*"Students, if you are enrolled in choir, band, strings, or music theory at Central and have at least a 3.0 grade average overall, you are eligible to join the TRI-M Music Honor Society. If you are interested in joining, please come to the inaugural meeting during Club B Rotation on Thursday, September 6th."  Meeting will be held in Rm #341.

*Attention Middle School “First Priority”: Any 7th or 8th grade student interested in being a student leader for “First Priority” this year is invited to Mrs. Cook's room during A-Lunch this Friday, September 7.

 

* If you are interested in volunteering and earning service hours, The Alzheimers Walk to End Alzheimers is November 10th.  It will take place at the Dean Hayes Soccer and Track Stadium on the MTSU campus and will begin at 8:00am.  You may log up to 8 hours of service since the set up will begin at 6:00am.  If you are interested, please contact Michelle Thomas at 615-429-8633 or at [email protected].

 

*The Tennessee State Veterans Home is having the Harvest Festival, October 25th, from 5-7pm, and Ms. Jill Wright is needing some assistants to help with the festival while earning community service hours.  Please contact Ms. Wright at[email protected], if you are interested.

 

*There will be a Chi Alpha Mu meeting during B club rotation this week! If you are a middle school student and enjoy math then come out to Ms. Heller's room in Room 238 to learn more about this club!

 

*The Central Golf team played Oakland at Old Fort yesterday. Rachel Chan, Aleah Lowe, and Ellie Stephens finished the regular season with a big win, 177 to 242. The Tigers look forward to the District Tournament at Old Fort Monday, where the boys look to advance to the Regional Tourney for the 2nd straight year, and the girls will try to win their third consecutive district title.

 

*The High School women's soccer team lost 2-0 last night to top ranked Page.  Avery Pogue put up a terrific performance with 12 saves.  The team travels this Thursday to play DCA in the Tournament of Champions.

 

 

 

*The Middle School Girls Varsity Soccer team played a hard-fought game against Rock Springs and tied 1 to 1. Lila Mae Skidmore scored the goal while Mikayla Harris had 6 saves.  The JV team won their game 2 to 0.  Emme Lynn scored both goals while Ashley Davis and Sophia Stringfield each had 3 saves.  The next game is Thursday against Thurman Francis at Smyrna Middle School. Game time is 4:30.

 

*Congratulations to the middle school tennis team. The girls swept their matches against MTCS and the boys winning 3 to 2 with 3 matches lasting over an hour.
