*Friday, Sept. 7 is the last day to change levels in a class or drop for a study hall. Forms can be picked up in Guidance.

 

*Students-

It is time to start registration for the PSAT.  Registration will begin Monday, August 27 and will continue until September 7 in the attendance office.  The cost is $16 and is open to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.  You may pay with cash or check made to CMS.  We will also take card payments but a processing fee will be added.  If you have questions about the PSAT and the importance of this test, please see your guidance counselor or Mr. Nichols.  Don't forget to pick up your practice booklet when you register!

 

*Attention Middle School First Priority: Any 7th or 8th grade student interested in being a student leader for First Priority this year is invited to Mrs. Cook's room during A-Lunch TODAY!! If you are unable to come to the meeting, stop by and see Mrs. Cook at some point today.

 

*Looking for service hours?  We have three big opportunities coming up this month, including one today:

·         September 7, Stream Cleanup at Old Fort Park

·         September 27, River Cleanup & Float along Stones River/Manson Pike Trailhead

·         September 29, National Public Lands Day Cleanup at McFadden Farm 

We need volunteers for all three events, so if you are interested, please visit Coach Nichols' advisory website for full details!

 

*The Tennessee State Veterans Home is having the Harvest Festival, October 25th, from 5-7pm, and Ms. Jill Wright is needing some assistants to help with the festival while earning community service hours.  Please contact Ms. Wright at [email protected], if you are interested.

* "If you were cast in A Midsummer Night's Dream, don't forget to see Ms. Lindsey to pick up your script and rehearsal schedule today"

 

* If you are interested in volunteering and earning service hours, The Alzheimers Walk to End Alzheimers is November 10th.  It will take place at the Dean Hayes Soccer and Track Stadium on the MTSU campus and will begin at 8:00am.  You may log up to 8 hours of service since the set up will begin at 6:00am.  If you are interested, please contact Michelle Thomas at 615-429-8633 or at[email protected].

 

*Attention all CMS high school students! If you would like to order a letterman jacket, come to the senior cafeteria next Thursday 9/13 which is a half day, at 11:00. For ordering information see your coach, Mr. Mears, Mr. Click, Mr. Brenner or Coach Kirksey. All those placing orders on 9/13 will receive their jackets BEFORE Christmas.

 

*CMS Young Life is holding an Ice Cream Olympics on Monday September 10th at 7pm at Old Fort Park Softball field. All students in 9th - 12th grade is welcome! Bring a quart of ice cream, a towel, and a change of clothes for field games with ice cream. The Fire department washes us off afterwards.

 

*For anyone interested in playing high school boys or girls tennis, there will be an information meeting next Monday, September 10th at 6 p.m. in the Senior Cafeteria.  If you have questions, please see Mr. Boynton. 

 

*Women’s soccer team started off the tournament of champions with a 3-1 win over DCA. Goals were scored by Ashley Clark, Ella Chesney, and Madison Beckman with assists from Ella Chesney, Ashley Clark, and Ali Miekle.  The next game is today vs Smyrna.

 

*The Middle School Girls Varsity Soccer team defeated Thurman Francis by a score of 7 to 1.  Reily Gusman and Maria Kime each scored a Hat Trick with 3 goals while Sara Claire Lusk scored one.  Assists made by Sydney Cuneo and Reily Gusman with 2, Lila Mae Skidmore and Emily Laseter with one.  Mikayla Harris had 5 saves.

The JV girls also won their game 3 to 1.  Sami Warren, Jesse Dreiling and Alex Woods each scored a goal.  Aubrey Prine and Sami Warren each had an assist. Ashley Davis had three saves, while Sophia Stringfield had 2 saves.

The next game is Monday here against LaVergne, game time is 4:30.
