*Service Opportunities*
-Parks and Recreation will have an event called the Barfield Bash on October 19th & 20th. They need volunteers starting at 4pm on both days. Please contact Meagan Bass at [email protected], for further questions.
-The Tennessee State Veterans Home is having the Harvest Festival, October 25th, from 5-7pm, and Ms. Jill Wright is needing some assistants to help with the festival while earning community service hours. Please contact Ms. Wright at [email protected] if you are interested.
- If you are interested in volunteering and earning service hours, The Walk to End Alzheimers is November 10th. It will take place at the Dean Hayes Soccer and Track Stadium on the MTSU campus and will begin at 8:00am. You may log up to 8 hours of service since the set up will begin at 6:00am. *The new rock band lineup is posted on the bulletin board outside the band room. Congratulations to the new students accepted into the central magnet rock band this year! There will be an initial meeting Tuesday from 3:15 to 3:30 in the band room. Please let Mr. Click know if you will be unable to attend.
*Congratulations to the high school cross country teams for a stellar showing at the Burnett Invitational in Cookeville over spring break. Both varsity squads captured first place trophies, and the boys JV team earned the first seven places in their race. Freshman Samantha Ouellette was the leading Lady Tiger, coming in third overall in a time of 20:19. Junior Fuji Anday was the top finisher overall, coming in with a time of 16:41. Junior Nathan Cardel won the JV race. In all, 14 Tiger striders earned personal records at this race, on a venue that is particularly challenging. Both squads return to action this Saturday in Dickson for the Midstate Cross Country Association championships.
* Everyone is invited tonight to the Younglife Stomp the Barn Hoedown Club at The barn across the street from World Outreach Church. Food and games at 6:45. Club starts at 7:27. Everyone dress in your favorite western attire. (Flannel shirt, Jorts, boots, bandanas, cowboy hats, freckles) Come celebrate fall with us!
*At the TMSAA State Championships on Saturday, our middle school boys cross-country team took fifth place.
