*Girls Who Code will meet this afternoon in Mrs Hines’ room (102) from 3:15 - 4:15.

 

*Sophomores and Juniors:

If you are going to apply to Governor's School, stop by to talk to your counselor about the application.

 

*Whitworth-Buchanan will be having a Fall Festival on November 2nd, from 3:30-7:00pm.   If you need community service hours, please go and help.  Anytime you can help, they will greatly appreciate it.

 

*The week of Oct. 15-19 is a big week for College Corner!

*The University of Alabama at Birmingham will host a meeting for local students who are interested in attending on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 6:30-8:30 at Maggiano’s in Nashville. You will learn about the admissions process, scholarships, financial aid, etc. In order to attend, you must register at the link on the Guidance webpage. Questions can be directed to Guidance or the UAB Admissions rep, Kristen Russell at [email protected].

 

*It's that time again! The Middle School Glow Dance will be next Thurs October 25th from 6-8:00. Be planning your costumes now. Food, music, prizes, and of course dancing!

 

*Congratulations to the high school cross country teams.  They competed in the MIdstate Cross Country Association championships this weekend on an incredibly hilly course in Dickson.  Not only did both varsity squads come away with AA titles, 22 runners shattered their personal records.

Junior Fuji Anday led the way for the boys, coming in at 16:33 while freshman Samantha Ouellette was ahead of the lady’s pack with a time of 19:01.  Freshman Ian Callender was first for the JV boys, finishing in a time of 17:51 while 8th grader Mikayla Morrell led the JV girls with a time of 21:53.

Your Tiger Striders return to action on Thursday of next week at the region meet in Lebanon.  Be sure to wish them well in the coming days!
