Seniors:  UT Knoxville has a deadline for competitive scholarships due Nov 1st.  You must apply and send your transcript & test scores by Nov 1st to qualify.

*Attention seniors:

The Veterans of Foreign Affairs is once again sponsoring the Voice of Democracy scholarship.  The 2018-2019 theme is "Why My Vote Matters."  Prizes and scholarships can be awarded at the Post, District, state, and national levels.  State winners receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC in March.  The top scholarship is worth $30,000.  See Coach Nichols this week if you are interested.  There is a signup sheet on his door.

 

*School supplies are being collected to be donated to Port St. Joe Schools. Port St. Joe is a small town on the gulf coast of Florida. When Hurricane Michael hit Port St. Joe it destroyed their town, many residents lost everything.

*The Central Baseball Bowling Scramble is this Saturday at Lanes, Trains, and Automobiles.  Cost to bowl is $25. First group of bowlers will start at 9:00 am. We will have prizes for best team name, best team shirts, best team score, and lowest team score.  Come out and have some fun as we raise money for our baseball teams.  See you there!

 

*Attention Middle School 1st Priority Leaders: There will be a leader meeting Monday during A-Lunch in Mrs. Cook's room. If you are a 7th grade leader, feel free to bring your lunch.

 

*College Corner has a full house on Tuesday! Belmont, Motlow, U.S. Air Force, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the Univeristy of Missouri will all be in attendance! Stop by and see them! It’s our last one of the year!

 

*The boys bowling team defeated La Vergne High School yesterday in a match decided by 65 pins. Trailing the entire match, the boys pulled ahead late and held on by total pin count. The boys were led by Bennett Neu who bowled his first career 300 game, which is the highest score possible and a major accomplishment. Matthew McDaniel Henry Parker Will Starling and Matthew Fleishman all picked up points for the boys. Jayvion Chambers tied his opponent with his final shot which prevented La Vergne from getting the necessary points to win. You can go to @CMSbowling on twitter to see video of Bennett's 300 game.

 

*Please announce the Middle School Boys Basketball team lost a close basketball game last night to Woodland.  Jake Hogue lead all scorers with 14, Mason Brown had 9, and McLane Martin added 8.

 

*Please announce the following the middle school girls’ basketball team defeated Woodland 37-6.  Addison Melton led the team with 12 and Emma Grace Smith added 6

*Congratulations to the high school cross country teams for yesterday’s performance in the region 4 meet, which took place in Cedars of Lebanon. More than a dozen Tiger striders PRed once again in a high stakes contest.

Both the boys and girls varsity squads finished as region runner up, qualifying them for the prestigious state meet next Saturday at the famous Steeplechase course in Nashville.

Leading the way for the boys was Junior Fuji Anday, who earned a personal best with a time of 16:06. He won the overall boy’s race. On the girls side, Lady Tiger and freshman Samantha Ouellette also PRed, coming in second overall with a time of 18:48.

The JV boys easily won their race while the JV girls finished second. Please congratulate all of these runners and wish the varsity gang best wishes as they train and prepare for the state meet.
