*The TableTop Gaming Club will not be meeting this afternoon because of Halloween. The Club will be meeting next week to begin choosing new games for purchase.

 

*Due to predicted rain tomorrow, the garden club will not meet to landscape tomorrow during club time. Do plan on staying next Wed after school, weather permitting.

 

*Seniors:  UT Knoxville has a deadline for competitive scholarships due Nov 1st.  You must apply and send your transcript & test scores by Nov 1st to qualify.

 

*Seniors:

The deadline to apply for the TN Promise scholarship is Nov 1st.

 

*Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee needs volunteers at our Smyrna facility all week next week to pack Disaster Relief Boxes for victims of Hurricane Michael. We may also be packing some Senior Boxes.

*Today is the last day to donate school supplies for Port St. Joe Schools.  When hurricane Michael hit Port St. Joe, it destroyed their town and many residents lost everything.

 

*There will be a high school men's soccer interest meeting on Monday Nov. 5th at 6pm in the Senior Cafeteria.  If you would like to try out make plans to attend.

 

*"The CMS Chess Team took 3rd place in the Junior High Section at Meigs Magnet School in Nashville this past weekend. Individually, Joshua Guaz placed 11th, Micah Warren in 14th, and Matthew Smith finished in 22nd place. Additionally, Chandler McCook, swept through 4 ranked players in an Open Tournament in Huntsville, Alabama claiming 1st prize"

 

Community Service Opportunities

**Whitworth-Buchanan will be having a Fall Festival on November 2nd, from 3:30-7:00pm.   If you need community service hours, please go and help. Anytime you can help, they will greatly appreciate it.  Please email Jenni Dawson at [email protected] for more information.

 

** If you are interested in volunteering and earning service hours, The Alzheimers Walk to End Alzheimers is November 10th.  It will take place at the Dean Hayes Soccer and Track Stadium on the MTSU campus and will begin at 8:00am.  You may log up to 8 hours of service since the set up will begin at 6:00am.  If you are interested, please contact Michelle Thomas at 615-429-8633 or at [email protected].

 

**On Saturday, November 17th, the Walter Hill Elementary PTO is having a vendor fair from 8am -3pm.  Duties will include setting up, cleaning up, and helping to make sure things are running smoothly.  If you are interested, email them at [email protected] with your name and when you can volunteer.

 

**Friday, December 7th, the Walter Hill Elementary PTO will be hosting Parent’s Night Out.  Volunteers will be needed from 5:30pm- 10:00pm.  Duties will include setting up, clean up, and entertaining children in various activities.  Email them at [email protected] with your name and when you can volunteer.
