*Mrs. Hines’ classes are meeting in Mrs. Taylor’s room today because of the Aspire test.

 

*Due to Aspire testing, Girls Who Code will meet in Mrs. Taylor’s room during club time today.

 

*"Key Club will be hosting a Bake Sale this Thursday on the half day from before school to after school and all proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House. Please come out and support us!"

 

*Middle School students:

As part of Geography Awareness Week, you have the chance to qualify for the CMS National Geographic Bee. Tomorrow, during your 5th period study hall time, go to Coach Burns' webpage and click on the link at the top for the Qualifying Quiz. The best 30 scores will compete in the Preliminary Round on November 29, and the Final Round will be held in January. Go to Coach Burns' National Geographic Bee webpage to find all the info, plus some really good links to help you study. Good luck!

 

*If you missed the first informational meeting about the National Technical Honor Society, there will be another meeting Wednesday morning at 7:30 am in the auditorium. Ask your CTE teacher or look in the website if you have any questions.

 

*The Central Magnet FIRST Robotics team will have an interest meeting in room 349 TODAY, November 13, at 5:30 pm. If you are interested in being on the robotics team this year, you and your parents should attend this meeting.

 

*In honor of Veterans Day, flags will be sold today (11/13) and again tomorrow (11/14), during each lunch period for $1.00. Your donation will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.  

 

*HOSA’s next blood drive is in November 29 7:30 to 1:00. You go to the CMS homepage and find the link to sign up. If you’re 16, see Mrs. Gates for a parent permission form. Your one donation can save 3 lives!

 

*There will be a parent information meeting for all Middle School boys interested in playing soccer, today, November 13th at 6:00 in room 226. If there are questions please contact Coach Ruess.

 

*Attention sophomores:

We will be having ACT boot camp sessions for you on Thursday and Friday this week, in which you will learn all things ACT.  This is a very important opportunity and will benefit you tremendously.  All sophomores must attend one of the three sessions.  The Thursday session is completely full so if you have not chosen one yet, you must choose either the morning or the afternoon session for Friday.  The link is on Coach Nichols' website or you can ask your English teacher about it.  If you fail to sign up, you will be placed in a session based on availability. 

 

Community Service Opportunity This Weekend

**On Saturday, November 17th, the Walter Hill Elementary PTO is having a vendor fair from 8am -3pm. Duties will include setting up, cleaning up, and helping to make sure things are running smoothly. If you are interested, email them at [email protected] with your name and when you can volunteer.
