*"The State of Tennessee recently approved the Seal of Biliteracy. If you are a senior, have completed 2 or more years of a Foreign Language class, and would like to find out how to receive the Seal of Biliteracy, you

can attend the informational meeting on January 22nd or 23rd. The meetings
will be held in the computer lab room #128, at 3:15 pm.
 Meeting signups are available on Mr. Nichols' advisory page or on Mrs. DaSilva's website. You can also ask your Foreign Language teacher for more information."

*Sophomores and juniors, applications to tutor in next year's writing lab are available in Mrs. Esberger's room - Rm 337. If you are responsible, enjoy helping others, and can creatively solve problems, you should consider applying. See Mrs. Esberger if you have any questions.

 

*Calling all instrumental musicians:

Mr. Brenner is looking for student participants in the pit band for the spring musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. Woodwind, brass and percussion players are needed.  Please see Mr. Brenner if you are interested

 

*The deadline to drop a class is Wednesday, Jan. 16. See Guidance for the necessary form. If you are a junior or senior interested in taking the Dual Enrollment Economics class, please see your counselor today!

 

* The Speech Class is hosting the 3rd Annual Poetry Out Loud Speech Competition on Wednesday, February 6th at 1:30 pm.  Any high school student may participate by reciting 2 poems from the Poetry Out Loud website. Please see Mrs. Head for more information.

 

* The Mindful Care Adult Care Service, which deals with Dementia and Alzheimers, is looking for volunteers for several events coming up.  Please contact Jennifer Hatfield:  [email protected] for more information.

*The boy’s JV basketball team lost a close game to Rocky Fort 39 to 38.  Mason brown led central with 10 points and Mclane Martin added 9

 

*The middle school girls’ basketball team beat rocky fork last night 35-26
