CONGRATULATIONS to GIS Club member Lekisha Gupta for winning FIRST PLACE in the 2025 Tennessee Online Mapping Contest with her StoryMap "Sandhill Cranes: A Majestic Journey Through Tennessee Skies." Club members AJ Jain, Immy Nelson, and Sasha Ganji also placed in the top five. Each of these students earned a $100 prize for their great work! See all the Middle School GIS Club StoryMaps on the "Collections" tab of our GIS for Good Hubsite.
The GIS Club is for middle school students at Central Magnet who have an interest in geography and geospatial technologies. We will learn about real world applications of GIS and practice using the technology, leading to the creation of our own unique Story Maps in the spring, which may be entered into the Tennessee ArcGIS Online Map Contest. Check out the videos below to learn a little about Geographic Information Systems. Remember to bring your laptop!
