Mission Statement

The Central Magnet APISO has a goal to build a community, to teach about various cultural aspects of Asian and Pacific Islanders, and to allow for respectful understanding of these cultures within the student population. Each meeting will host a lesson about a specific culture unless it is a planning period for any upcoming events. Each lesson will include but isn't limited to sections about food, traditional garb, language, traditional rituals, and cultural behaviour. For certain important holidays and events, we have a goal to host a event at school (mostly off date to the actual holiday/event for people who will be absent to celebrate it in their family/community) that will go in depth about the origins and nature of the day.
