MATHCOUNTS Middle School Math Competition

MATHCOUNTS is a national organization that offers math competitions, clubs, and resources for students in grades 6-8. The school-level competition is held during school in January.  CMS students who qualify are invited to compete in the Nashville Chapter competition in February.  Students may also qualify for state and national competitions.

The competition fee is $40 and is due to Mr. Kinney (room 131) by Tuesday, 10/22.  Make checks payable to Central Magnet School and write the child's name in the memo line. All students may compete for the school competition, but only 14 may compete in the Nashville Chapter Competition, which will be held at MTSU in February. If more than 14 students pay to compete, then the coaches will invite 14 students to represent CMS in the chapter competition.  All other students will receive a refund of their $40 competition fee.

Dr. Ye from MTSU visits most Fridays during 7th period Tiger Time to coach the MATHCOUNTS team.  All students are invited to come, even if they do not plan to compete in MATHCOUNTS.

Students, please fill out an online Pass for the location "Tiger Time."  You do not need to fill out the Tiger Time Tutoring Form to attend.
