Congratulations to Lauren Powell and Anna Powell for their selection onto the
2025 Daily News Journal All-Area Team.
- 2026 Tryouts are scheduled for July 13 at 12pm at Bloomfield Links. It should take 1.5-2 hours. Your ride should be there no later than 2pm.
- Athletes must be "green" in Final Forms before they can participate. Visit Central Magnet's Athletics webpage for info about Final Forms. When you are green, go ahead and "join" the HS Golf team so you will show up on my end. If you are not green on Final Forms, you cannot tryout.
- Due to space and time restrictions, tryouts are for new golfers only. If you are already on the team, do not attend this tryout.
- At the tryout, golfers should expect to play 6-12 holes at Bloomfield (depending on space at the course). Golfers will be evaluated by their score, their experience, their knowledge of the rules and situations, and their attitude.
- 5 boys and 3 girls can compete in matches/tournaments. More can make the team, but JV will have limited opportunities to play in matches.
- We will play around 9-12 matches this season.
- Most matches are 18 holes, starting at 1pm, so students will miss 2 classes on match days, and are responsible for keeping their grades up and their work turned in. Some select tournaments will require missing a full day of school.
- The season runs from tryouts on July 13 to the state tournament during fall break.
