Welcome to the Central Magnet School String Orchestra! Our 90+ student program is divided into four different levels of playing: Beginning Strings (no previous playing experience), Intermediate Strings I, Intermediate Strings II, and Advanced Honors Strings.
The classes are not grade-specific but refer to level of playing, meaning that students in any grade can be placed in any of the four classes. Class placements are made by audition (other than Beginning Strings).
Students also have the opportunity to perform in regional competitions, community concerts, weddings, and as part of smaller, chamber music ensembles. For any questions you may have about the CMS String Orchestras, please contact me via email: [email protected]
