Mr. Fann's Adv. Honors and Honors Biology Class

Hello,

Welcome to Mr. Fann's Biology class. I wanted to take a moment and tell you a little about myself.

I've been teaching 17 years here in Rutherford County. I have three children and have been married to my wife for 16 years. We live on a small farm in Cannon County and have many outdoor animals, and snakes, lizards, fish tanks, and 20 or so tarantulas in the house!

In my life before teaching, I spent 19 years working in the zoological field primarily as a herpetology and or ichthyology supervisor. I have conducted long term field research in three different states including Tennessee on various venomous snakes and other venomous animals. I have presented snake bite safety and Identification classes in the past at Vanderbilt University and at the Peabody campus. While working in South Carolina, in addition to caring for animals at the Charleston, South Carolina Aquarium, I presented safety classes on venomous animals, bites and stings to all branches of the military for their field exercises. I have worked with and cared for large crocodiles, snakes, and venomous animals from around the world. They are my favorites!

I love life sciences of all kinds and Paleontology too. I'm looking forward to the year.

See ya soon!
Fann
