Welcome! My name is Sra. Jessica Pinson. This is my 9th year (!) at Central and I am thankful for your child in my class. I have my undergraduate in Spanish, as well as my Masters in the Teaching of Spanish. My husband and I have had the wonderful opportunity to live in Spain, travel to numerous other countries, and organize trips through our department. The world has so much to offer our students, and I hope my experience and excitement for the language & culture can, in turn, motivate them! Don't ever hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
2019 costa rica trip is full. i'll keep everyone posted for openings.
Thank you so much for all the wish list items!
March 7th is Spring Picture Day!
My classes are interpersonally-based, meaning we focus on becoming more fluent and conversation-based in the language. Through 'speed-chatting', situational prompts, improvised role-plays, scaffolded grammar activities and, most importantly, creativity & imagination, we use real-life experiences to make the language 'stick' and gain real-world knowledge of the culture in the process. Your student will have a working-to-fluent knowledge of the language depending on the year completed and can handle conversation with any native. Your support of your child in their language endeavors help them to feel the confidence they need in order to succeed! Thank you for all you do!
