Tennis
TRYOUTS WILL BE TUESDAY , AUGUST 4th
5:30-7:30pm on courts 9-12 at Adams Tennis Complex. Arrive by 5pm for a brief parent meeting.
PLAYERS SHOULD SHOW UP WITH APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR AND ATTIRE, AND A REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE.
Parents and players: Please read expectations to the right before trying out.
Players-please come dressed appropriately to play, bring your own racket, water, a cooling towel, and a can of balls to tryout.
SEASON INFORMATION
Start times for matches and practices vary and can start as early as 3:30 or as late as 5:30pm or even 7pm for practices. Both are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at Adams Tennis Complex from August until October, except for the MTCS and PCA matches, which are held at MTCS and PCA, respectively. These dates and times are set by the Rutherford County Athletic director.

You MUST have ALL forms completed in FINAL FORMS in order for you to participate in tryouts. 100%. Please select Middle School Tennis as the sport. The physical / medical eligibility form MUST BE signed by a doctor and dated after April 15 2026. Feel free to bring hard copy medical to tryouts, but if FinalForms is not complete, your player cannot try out!

Team practices are a very important part of being a member of the team. This is not the time to schedule dental and other appointments. If you are going to miss practice, let Coach Angel know through email or REMIND 101
If you are participating in multiple sports we will try to coordinate with you. Do know you are expected to complete every task at practice whether or not you play multiple sports.
Rules
Middle School Tennis is sanctioned by the TSSAA as well as by Rutherford County Schools following guidelines set by USTA, (United States Tennis Association). This said, there is some flexibility allowing for the lack of experience by many of the players. The only match play coaches for Central Magnet are Coach Smith and Coach Angel. Spectators are not to communicate scores or tennis strategy to players, or comment on line calls by their opponents. If there is a recurring theme of bad calls, contact a coach. Please don't make this so intense for your players that they forget to have fun!
