Collier Smith

Coach Smith was a Top-6 player all four years at Mary Baldwin College, NCAA D-3.  She was the #2 player her junior and senior years and compiled a 90%+ record over all four years of play, singles and doubles.  She was an individual champion as well as team champion for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  Smith was awarded Mary Baldwin College’s Most Valuable Player and Most Dedicated Player (2) Awards as well as the esteemed Gordon Payne Goodwill Ambassador Award presented to standout collegiate athletes whose play, sportsmanship and goodwill were recognized by teammates and competitors alike. (A highlight was her college coach being named the NCAA Coach of the Year; Smith is pictured with her at the NCAA Tennis Hall of Fame in Williamsburg, Virginia.)

While in college, Smith instructed fellow college students, directed a summer camp tennis program, taught children private lessons as well as through the public parks tennis program.

Smith’s post-college years include serving as both a club and private instructor. She plays competitively in Murfreesboro/Nashville tennis leagues.

Most proudly, she has coached the Central Tigers for the last seven years, winning county championships, (Girls and/or Boys), each of these years.
