Something fun and immersive: if you have Netflix, check out You vs. Wild with Bear Grylls. It's an interactive show where you make decisions about what to do next in order to survive. You can change the audio and subtitles to Spanish! It's a fun activity to help you with understanding the language and learning some new words and phrases.
 

Friendly reminder: if you wish to remediate an assignment, you must turn it in the next class for an opportunity for maximum benefit for your grade; otherwise, you must do more than the initial remedial request. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me or stop by and talk.

Grades will be shown in Skyward on a range from 0-5, graded from a rubric, and each item listed pertains to a different category that makes up the Unit Grade. There is a range of an A based on quality of work and effort: if a student gets all 5s, then it's a 100%; if a student gets 5s and one or more 4s, then it's a 96%; if a student gets 4s and 5s and no more than one 3, then it's a 93%; and, if a students gets more than one 3, then it's a 90%. Remediation to improve understanding (and therefore the grade) is always welcome! If a student has 2s or 1s, then the student has a B (86%) or C (76%) or lower, depending on how many and how low the grades are. 
In short, Contract Grading benefits the student because it rewards the learning process rather than penalizes for mistakes. It greatly reduces stress and anxiety, and the student can focus on learning rather than on points or a final grade. If you have questions, please email me!
