About the AP Exams
About the AP Exams
The ultimate goal for any Advanced Placement (AP) is successful completion and high scoring on the corresponding AP exam, which is administered in the spring by College Board.
All Advanced Placement courses and are primarily focused on preparing students for these exams, even if your student elects to not taking the AP exam for their class.
All AP exams are administered in the Spring Semester in May (even if your student took Macroeconomics in the Fall Semester).
What opportunities will there be for Macro or Micro Review for the AP Exam?
In the Spring Semester, there will be scheduled exam review sessions after school, usually starting in April. These review sessions are beneficial for all AP Macro students but are ESPECIALLY RECOMMENDED for Fall Semester Students, who are more out-of-practice with the content than their Spring Semester counterparts.
Also, I will make available a Review Website full of practice, short reviews, and other study resources for AP Macro and Micro students. Students who take Macro in the Fall should ESPECIALLY take advantage of those opportunities in the Spring Semester so they knock the proverbial rust off before the AP exam.
More information on these opportunities will be communicated to your student in class and on the Remind application as the AP exam approaches.

Special Note about AP Exams in 2025
Beginning in the 2025 exam season, some AP exams (including AP Macro and AP Micro) will be Hybrid format. They will have a multiple-choice section that is on a computer butt a free response section that will be on paper. For a look at what that mode of testing will look like you can watch this video from College Board. Other exams, such as AP Euro, will be fully digital and take place entirely on a computer. For a video on what those exams will look like, you can watch this video from College Board. While we are still working on the exact logistics of this new testing change, they will be communicated to your student and you just as soon as they are finalized.
